Black Crane is a brand by Alexander Yamaguchi and Momoko Suzuki. It represents pure deep black as Alexander and Momoko are deeply interested in their Japanese roots as well as ancient Japanese culture and civilization. Focusing on a silhouette that complements supple lines and comfort, their collection is characterized as minimal and edgy.

All production takes place locally in Los Angeles.


Re-located to Los Angeles from Tokyo when he was 18 to realize his career in surfing. He subsequently became a graphic designer and launched his men’s line, Alexander Yamaguchi in 2000.


Re-located to Los Angeles from Tokyo when she was 14 to pursue her creative education. She has a background in environmental art as well as architecture and interior design.

Together, they launched Black Crane in the fall of 2008. The two influence each other and reflect their inspiration in their clothes.
